Employee Benefits And Executive Compensation Our employee benefits practice area is able to respond to all types of benefit related inquiries. The practice area has three broad areas: Qualified Retirement Plans, Health and Welfare Benefit Plans, and Executive Compensation. We provide a broad capability in the Qualified Retirement Plan area with expertise in setting up, amending, terminating, operating, administering and auditing 401(k) plans, as well as 403(b) plans, 457 plans, defined benefit plans (including cash balance plans) and employee stock ownership plans. We provide significant assistance with fees and management of fees in Qualified Plans and assist clients with defending audits by both the Internal Revenue Service and the United States Department of Labor. We also provide advice regarding fiduciary obligations and risk management in the operation and administration of these plans. With regard to Health and Welfare Benefit Plans, we provide advice with respect to adoption, pricing, fee management, consultant expenses, as well as benefit claims and plan design. We provide assistance with respect to benefit appeals and claims defense. Executive Compensation covers a broad range of special benefits provided to executives
and management. We provide advice regarding the adoption, funding, administration and termination of
these benefits, including analysis of the impact of Internal Revenue Code Section 409A. We also provide
assistance with life insurance products, split dollar life insurance and other funding vehicles available
to provide benefits. We assist clients with stock and property as compensation and provide insight as
to the various options available.
